Good workout at retro

Darn it flex will not start. Called njm they are sending me a tow. Guess Bell Ford would be best. Hope it is something simple. Nothing is simple with newer vehicles. Flex started took it to George Wall Ford. Needs a new battery. $140 not too bad

Sandwich station for lunch. I had pork roll, Mommy had a cheese steak

Looked at rahway houses

Went to have my cheese danish from yesterday, someone ate the cheese and left the cake, I will pass

Last rehab tomorrow, I could use a bit more but I have made good progress

Wednesday

Had a new person again, each time the program changes just a little bit. A different perspective makes each session unique. I think that it is done purposely. 

Now to try and straighten out my script situation. Stopped at CVS, nice person called Medicare. Then called optimrx and I got my scripts

Shinny diner for lunch brought salad and dessert home too much food

MGCC for gin, had an order of rye toast for dinner, just too much lunch. Lost a few bucks

Great workout at retro

Now a leisurely luncheon, she reads the menu totally. So slow to order but ends up with the obvious choice anyway.

Went to doc getting a sty. Went to CVS script called in to Walmart by mistake. Something to straighten out tomorrow after rehabilitation

Took a ride to Hamilton to watch Sergio play soccer. 

They have a store named the" pork roll store" it was closed but I will have to check it out

Giants lost but at least made a game of it

Rehab really rough today, got there 815 done at 1010. I think it is worth the effort.

Rehab was really tough, think Mario is trying to kill me.

 

Did a little chipping and putting got tired quickly need to work on getting stronger

 

Going to hit golf balls on Friday after rehab, spoke to Mario says he thinks I should ask doctor but doesn't think it will be an issue.

 

MGCC was pretty empty last night won a few bucks playing gin. Pasta night is getting very boring, I had a BLT for dinner

Rehab has been going well, thanks for all the well wishes. If orthopedic doc says okay may attempt playing late October.

I have had a bad habit of not looking closely at my club bill. Just a bad thing to do 

Can't believe October is right around the corner. The posting season is coming to a close.

Glad to see that we didn't change pasta night while I was out, it is the same boring event it was before I had surgery. 

Two wrongs do not make a right. 

Golf is an honorable sport, we police ourselves. 

Halloween as a big kid it is a holiday that I enjoy.

tough two days

Friday was Gail's wake really tough, today was the funeral. Mass at SJV but the interment was in East Hanover about 40 minites. These things are never easy. Repast was nicely done simple but ample in Clark. Saw a lot of folks that I hadn't seen in a while.

 

I am going to the gym just to ride bike and get a little stretching in.

 

Rehab yesterday was hard, Mario says I push too much and run out of steam. Gave me some tips to stretch my hamstrings, they are too tight.

What I would like in the retirement housing:

 

• 2 bedroom or 1 bedroom with a den on one floor prefer rental but will buy if absolutely necessary

• Onsite medical assistance
• Proximity to major health care ( RWJ/Barnabus, Meridian, etc)
• Onsite health club facility

• Activity schedule
• Access to small on site convenience store
• Public transportation to shopping would be nice
• Convenient parking
• Access to family

 

I am still capable of driving but night driving is becoming harder. I would like access to golf but not a dealer killer. I need to be able to get my affairs in order from an expense side. The Colonia house has infrastructure issues which in the next three to four years will be very expensive.

 

Dr. Sharma is in Edison. Dr. Spiler is in Old Bridge. Dr. Wilkes is in Manhattan. Dr. Igles is in Brick. Dr. Yaremczak is in Woodbridge. Dr. Closkey is in Toms River. So we will need to travel no matter where we live. We travel to Doctors now.

Homestead

Went to rehab, Mario was off so Christina took over. 15 minutes on bike, did all exercises plus one new one. 

Went to see homestead, Rae wants to be able to serve 13, she will never be happy. 

Went to Cracker Barrell in Hamilton for lunch. 

Went to Dr Sergie her leg is all better, vaccaro for desert for the mauriello family. Stopped to see how they were doing. Poor Rae had to stay home alone. 

She asked me what time tomorrow for Dr Spiller I said I had it on my calendar for 10. Was told that was impossible? She called but too late, finally she found the appointment card 1015, I was wrong. It happens

She just told me that geneen agrees with her about homestead.

Deja Vu

Rae's very good friend Gail passed away. She has been sick for a while.

Went to gym. Edison family restaurant for lunch. Then to Walmart Edison got Rae scooter and then I went to the Metuchen library. Picked her up (2 hours) then home. Now at 726 we are at Avenue so she can pay her bill. I am afraid that I am destined to the same routine going forward, I hate waiting hours at a time while she rides around stores.

Thank God she finally realized that going to mauriello house tonight was a bad idea.

Past week

Orthopedic doctor suggested I take a longer stride, no short steps or shuffling ( not easy to change). Also, try walking more upright. 

Saturday night had dinner at bertucci very competent waitress and nice to. Joe had a coupon saved 25% a pleasant surprise. 

Went to Monmouth park for birthday party, nice day but long and uneven ground to walk on

Good to see fratterolos 

I think I have had hurricanes coverage, too much information glad irma is moving in land

Getting dressed now and going for coffee and rehab

Went to orthopedic surgeon today, all good. I can drive, go to gym, putt and chip. 6 more weeks of rehab but that's a good thing

Wet leaves on the road just as slippery as oil

You never miss something totally until you can't have it, I have missed a full season of golf (it sucked), please don't take MGCC for granted it is a privilege to be a member.

Rehab is progressing should be ready for next season. 

Fall brings the high holy day, have a good fast

A week in and feeling great. Rehab does make me tired but worth the effort. Rae driving me nuts she just doesn't understand that she is not the only person hurting. Her friend Gail very sick, my sister Meg detached retina everyone is having issues.

Walked to the Lucas house up hill all the way.

Hoping to get to the gym sometime next week.
