Fw: Fwd: Trump Offers Obama a Job

Finally a weekend with just a little bit of rain.

I can say that our course is in the worse shape I have ever seen it since I joined. I know that Jason and crew work as hard as they can and the main reason is the amount of rain. As members we have to help the amount of divots not repaired or replaced is too many. Soft greens get ball marks and skid marks repair them.

I had a great pork roll sandwich at lunch today

Greens are rolling nicely

which is the toughest green to putt? 2, 17, or 8 actually you can make a case for all three plus others

Fall one day member guest coming up. This one is reasonably priced so take advantage of it.

If you have a friend thinking of joining now is the perfect time to come aboard

  • Member Member tournament sign up at the pro shop. Just a fun event.

Emptied two bottles of fill from cart yesterday. It is our golf course replace divots please, The motto should be "Replace repair or fill". Best is replace and repair.

Our greens are rolling very nicely

Someone suggested a local rule for deep tracks in the bunkers. Need I remind you the bunker is a hazard so my advice is stay out of them.

Remember Venison is good eating.

August

Vacation on carnival horizon. Big ship 9 days 8 nights. Had a great time. Played some blackjack, ate too much, massage (2) and no communication with outside world. I had a small accident on Grand Turk but survived. Turned over my scooter just dumb. Gained 9 lbs, I did go to the gym every day.

Stayed on board while in Port at Puerto Rico. Just chilled. Did some fun stuff at Amber cove. Ron Jon tee shirts for the kids.
It's amazing how quickly we disembark once in Port.

Tried to get wisdom tooth extraction but Dr. Y just couldn't do it without breaking it and was afraid of consequences. Went to art Greenwald have an appointment next week to get it out.

Saw both Dr Sharma and Dr Iglesias both were very happy with all my blood work. Hemoglobin A1C right in line. They both said the same thing. I could probably lower my medicine intake but since my numbers are so good why fix something that is not broken.

Adelina clubs finally came in she took a couple of lessons. She has a very nice golf swing. I think she just doesn't have the time to practice with school and dance.

Went to North Hills to play golf with Bobby Sheer fun day and then Peter Luger's for steak or was it Ruth Chris steakhouse? Doesn't matter it was excellent.

Had some words with a fellow MGCC member over Gin. Other players to avoid controversy stayed on the sidelines but privately told me I was right to stand my ground. They probably told the other guy the same thing. LoL

Too much rain golf course is stressed. Rounds are down wondering how much of an assessment we will have. Problem is assessment always makes people leave.

Dr Sharma who was supposed to be my member member partner says he is not well enough to play. So I am playing with Richie Policastro, it will be fun

Went to New Balance and Cubby barbecue on the Saturday of labor day weekend.

Labor Day

amazing where has the summer gone?

Labor Day barbecue at the pool, please call for a reservation

Member Member tourney by far my favorite. Sign up on Foretees or the pro shop.  Ask around or the pro shop if you need a partner. The beauty of the event is that you meet and play against members not normally in your group. The shootout is very intense.

Schools open next week plus less daylight so be careful driving

Rosh Hashanah 2018

It is important for men to remember that, as women grow older, it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping as when they were younger.  When you notice this, try not to yell at them.  Some are oversensitive, and there's nothing worse than an oversensitive woman.

My name is Roger Lesch.  Let me relate how I handled the situation with my wife, Peggy.

When I retired a few years ago, it became necessary for Peggy to get a full-time job, along with her part-time job, both for extra income and for the health benefits that we needed.

Shortly after she started working, I noticed she was beginning to show her age.  I usually get home from the golf club about the same time she gets home from work. Although she knows how hungry I am, she almost always says she has to rest for half an hour or so before she starts dinner.  I don't yell at her. Instead, I tell her to take her time and just wake me when she gets dinner on the table.

I generally have lunch each day in the Men's Grille at the Golf Club, so eating out is not an option in the evening.  I'm ready for some home-cooked grub when I hit that door.  She used to do the dishes as soon as we finished eating.      But now, it's not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after dinner.  I do what I can by diplomatically reminding her several times each evening that they won't clean themselves.   I know she really appreciates this, as it does seem to motivate her to get them done, before she goes to bed.

Another symptom of aging is complaining, I think.  For example, she will say that it is difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills during her lunch hour.  But, boys, we take 'em for better or worse, so I just smile and offer encouragement.  I tell her to stretch it out over two, or even three days. That way, she won't have to rush so much.  I also remind her that missing lunch completely now and then wouldn't hurt her any (if you know what I mean).   I like to think tact is one of my strong points.

When doing simple jobs, she seems to think she needs more rest periods.  For example, she had to take a break when she was only half-finished mowing the front lawn.  I try not to make a scene.  I'm a fair man... I tell her to fix herself
a nice, big, cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade and just sit for a while.   And, as long as she is making one for herself, she may as well make one for me, too.

I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support Peggy.  I'm not saying that showing this much patience & consideration is easy.   Many men will find it difficult.  Some will find it impossible !!!!   Nobody knows better than I do how frustrating women get as they get older. However, guys, if you even use just use a little more tact and less criticism of your aging wife because of this article, I will consider that writing it was well worthwhile.    After all, we are put on this earth to help each other.

EDITOR'S NOTE:

Roger Lesch died suddenly on January 31, of a perforated rectum.

The police report says he was found with a Calloway extra-long 50-inch Big Bertha Driver II golf club jammed up his rear end, with barely 5 inches of grip showing, and a sledge hammer laying nearby.

His wife Peggy was arrested and charged with murder.  The all-woman jury took only 10 minutes to find her Not Guilty  - -  accepting her defense that Roger, somehow without looking, accidentally sat down on his golf club.

A hole in one, so to speak !!!!

July

Hip feeling good, still a little tenative slow steps and careful.

Back to playing bad golf

Fourth of July spent at belmar McKenzie house with Lisajoy and the kids. Visited uncle Jimmy. The picnic at Lowry house was very nice.

Chair yoga at evergreen shut down for the summer. They suggested the Port reading on Tuesday morning.

Exciting baseball couple of weeks for Jack and the Colonia all Star team. They won mayor's trophy with two consecutive wins over hopelawn. Jack was an offensive machine getting 9 hits over the two games plus starting the game ending double play. Followed by the winning of the Woodbridge tournament winning both games on a Tuesday night final against a very good Bayonne team.

Had to watch Sergio one day as he had to sit out a day for fistacuff. Went down for the talent show at CYO camp.

Geneen closed on there house in Colonia, hopefully the right move.

Cracked wisdom tooth waiting till after the cruise to get it pulled.

Thinking about using a trainer at retro, I need to build up my strength and stamina.

Romeo at d'talia always nice. Also had dinner with Gary and Linda.

Lobster steak member guest at MGCC food was great. Event was moving along until the sky opened up with five holes to play. Dr. Lucido was two over playing career round. Think the club screwed up by having the event. Cost was high and they knew that weather was an issue all week.

Indian night at MGCC this week sorry I am going to miss it. Hope it's a success
Sharon Smither retirement after 50 years at the club, good luck

Playing okay just not hitting the ball far, putting has been pretty good

Had to meet spinnello the plumber twice the past two weeks. Not sure the problem can be solved easily.

Tomorrow we go cruising

A husband reluctantly agreed to play in the couples' alternate shot Tournament at  his club.

He teed off on the first hole, a par four, and blistered a drive 300 yards down  the middle of the fairway.  Upon reaching the ball, the husband said to his wife, "Just hit it toward the green, anywhere around there will be fine."

The wife proceeded to shank the ball deep into the woods. Undaunted, the husband said "That's OK, Sweetheart" and  spent the full five  minutes looking for the ball. He found it just in time but in a horrible position.  He played the shot of his life to get the ball within two feet of the hole  He told his wife to knock the ball in.

His wife then proceeded to knock the ball off the green and into a bunker. Still maintaining composure, the husband summoned all of his skill and holed the shot from the bunker.

He took the ball out of the hole and, while walking off the green, put his arm   around his wife and calmly said,  "Honey, that was a bogey five and that's OK, but I think we can do better on the next hole".

To which she replied, "don't bitch at me,
Only 2 of those 5 shots were mine."
