What I would like in the retirement housing:

 

• 2 bedroom or 1 bedroom with a den on one floor prefer rental but will buy if absolutely necessary
• 2 full baths
• Small kitchen
• Washer and dryer
• Utility inclusive
• All maintenance
• Weekly cleaning services
• Onsite medical assistance
• Proximity to major health care ( RWJ/Barnabus, Meridian, etc)
• Onsite health club facility
• Common area with a party room
• Activity schedule
• Access to small on site convenience store
• Public transportation to shopping would be nice
• Convenient parking
• Access to family

 

I am still capable of driving but night driving is becoming harder. I would like access to golf but not a dealer killer. I need to be able to get my affairs in order from an expense side. The Colonia house has infrastructure issues which in the next three to four years will be very expensive.

 

Dr. Sharma is in Edison. Dr. Spiler is in Old Bridge. Dr. Wilkes is in Manhattan. Dr. Igles is in Brick. Dr. Yaremczak is in Woodbridge. Dr. Closkey is in Toms River. So we will need to travel no matter where we live. We travel to Doctors now.
