Gallo Cafe

Went last Saturday evening. A byob with a warm feeling. Small dish of dips olive oil and tomatoes paste, nice bread, salad included and very reasonable. Portion size was excellent.

Just a comfortable atmosphere. I recommend it

Had lunch at Pollock Johnny's a place that Guy from diners, drive ins and dives should visit. Not cheap but people just kept coming in and ordering. Stay or go seats maybe 15 had cheesesteak but next time will try dogs and chill. Onion rings were outstanding, cheese steak was good plus they had seltzer.

My favorite restaurant Villa Gennero was packed tonight all because it was on channel 7 last night. The piece was about their braised short ribs, which have always been good. Just hope this flash of success does not ruin a great byob.

DD

Everyone knows I go to DD at least daily. I may have to rethink my support, DD has reduced the senior citizen discount from 10% to 5%. Taking advantage of seniors shame on you DD!

Panera

Usually go to DD before stopping at a customer. A dozen donuts is a great entre. Better maybe be "Bagel Pack" at Panera a baker's dozen and two tubs of cream cheese. Nicer show and reasonably priced $13.99.

Lucas

Attended a family function at Luca's in Edison (a 70 birthday ) party. The food was excellent but more impressive was the attentiveness of the staff and the uniform delivery of the items. This was no prepackaged event. Everyone order from the menu from appetizers to main courses, not an easy chore to keep 25 or so patrons happy. A job very well done.

Golf with Pop-Pop, Isabelle, and Joseph

Not sure which is the worse word in the English language but think cancer is the most dreaded. Just hearing it sends chills through everyone. Buried a friend on Monday just turned 65( lung cancer ), I remember when I thought that 65 was old. Dealing with one's own mortality is always a problem but not too many people have had it better then me. Life has been pretty good to me. Not Always fair but it could have been a lot worse.

2 fat guys

Went back to "2 fat guys" on Saturday night. Place was packed and we went after 630 which is unusual for a not too fancy byob. Again portions were ample, prices reasonable and the menu diverse enough. Crowd was very local which is to be expected. Service was okay, just one waitress with two helpers. It still is a pizzeria with side seating for 35-40.

Lucas for Valentine Dinner
Service was great, attentive, knowledgeable, stood in the background but there if you had a question or need. Priced right for what you get. Oysters were very good. Pasta was cooked a l dente. I was never a real fan but the past three dinners have all been very good.

Want to see the difference between success and failure. Go to Dick's Woodbridge Center then go to Sports Authority. The difference is amazing from product display, available products to the people on the floor.

Sonic is okay. Rae had the hot dog said it was good but a little soggy. I had a bacon double cheese burger deluxe. For the money I would rather Five Guys or the Burger King Whopper. Onion rings were hard. Plus I tipped the delivery kid.
