I must admit that I never was very lucky at Lucas in Edison. Last night was the exception service was outstanding, oysters were great and had a shrimp dish that was very good. Enjoyable night and not too expensive

They have a shrimp and scallop over pasta which I really enjoy. The pasta fagoli (JV really likes it) soup is excellent.

 

JV had to go to the potty - he will be three in two week- before he left the table he told us all not to touch his soup. Smart kid he knows me already (lol).

 

Plus the specials are usually interesting but not too crazy or over the top. Last night Geneen and Grant had Mushroom ravioli with Bolognese Sauce which they seemed to enjoy.

Manor

We went to the manor in west orange for our 41st wedding anniversary. The sunday brunch was as always plentiful. As I get older I eat less and less so this huge buffet is wasted on me.
The lamb was excellant and the cold sea foods (shrimp oysters sushi lox etc.) were very excellant also, but I just ran out of steam. In my 30s I could eat all day and come back for more but at 65 I no longer can or want to.
The desert alcove as always is so tempting but.......

Cubby's

Went to Cubby's in Hackensack last night. No recession here. A line to get in when we left. Heart healthy no way. Ribs, pulled pork, steak sandwiches, and chicken. Hot dogs all the way.

If you go to a resturant noted for its pizza then you should have pizza. I did not pasta fagole soup was tomatoe soup with pasta and beans. Bread was good. Garlic shrimp was boring. My wife had an italian combo which she said was okay.
Servers were too young. They would have rather been anywhere else. Serving was not what they wanted to do on a Saturday night.
The portion size was good. The salad was excellent.
We had good company and the place was full.

Sonic

Went to sonic today hotdog okay but onion rings were very good plus they had seltzer. Not cheap but reasonable. Next time I will try the burger.

My boss for the past two and a half years Jeff Mueller just left the company. Good guy will be very hard to replace and his new company got a very good man.

Very reasonable take out 1333 st georges ave colonia

The veal parm was pretty good but pasta with meatballs and a salad under 8 bucks not bad at all

Went to a very nice byob in east windsor, nj Nicolinas good basic Italian food and pizza
